Sunday River Camp Day 2

Well the day is almost over and we have a happy group. But again tonight we expect they will be early to bed.

This morning, following their run, the team enjoyed a great breakfast. By 8:00 we were on the lift. We knew we could enjoy a full run but we concentrated on the top half as it had been groomed. By 9:30 we had already done 4 runs and we decided to try a full run.

Let’s say that it was an interesting experience. The weather was getting close to the freezing point and with the snowmaking system still in full force, it felt like we were skiing through a car wash. They decided to shut it down just a few minutes after we skied through it. After that we took a small break, went back up and skied until lunch. We even skied another hour and a half in the afternoon. There were a lot more skiers than yesterday but the traffic was manageable and we skied down top to bottom a few more times since the car wash was off !.

When we returned to the dorm we had a scheduled hour of peace time then we went over the video we took of the kids. Then most of us went to the local ski shop “Jack Frost” for Souvenirs etc. The shop owner and workers commented on how well behaved and polite our team is and that they are welcome back any time.

It is about 8:30 pm and we have some children playing ping pong and others playing soccer with kids from another team, some playing instruments, some studying and some watching James Bond 007 Casino Royal.

In general, this was another successful day in Sunday River.
