50 50 Draw
David Clark our 50/50 Draw Coordinator
This year there are 25 draw dates. Each draw is operated by two families. Each family is asked to signup for two dates. The signup sheet will be located in the Race Shack at the top of the Chair lift. Please select your two dates by Jan 2nd. After the Jan 2nd I will assign the open dates to those families who have yet to sign up. Please contact me if for some reason you feel that you can't run any draws. In previous years it was agreed that families in lieu of participating in the draws could contribute $100 to the Club as the draw averages that amount a day when done. However, it is my sincere wish that all families participate.
It is very important to contact me if you can't participate in a draw to which you are signed up. I need adequate notice to find alternates.
Once the list is complete, I will email it out to everyone. I will be running the draw on Jan 2nd, so you are free to stop me and ask any questions.
I am including the 50/50 instructions they will also be taped to the top of the 50/50 box lid (located in the bar)

Sunday River Camp Day 4
We had a great morning with 3 1/2 hours of skiing. We ate, got changed and left at 2:00 EST (3:00 AST). We are now aiming for 9:30 pm in Fredericton.

Sunday River Camp Day 3
Well our Day 3 came and went in an even better way.
Wake up at 6:15, then run, then breakfast, then on the lift by 8:00. Nice sunshine and an even better looking mountain.
We had great snow conditions to ski on. The only not so pleasant experience happened when some wanted to go to the bathroom around 9:30. While they went for it, the rest of us stayed in line so we wouldn’t lose our turn. Unfortunately at that time the temperature rose above 0 while the snow guns around us were still going. Let’s say that we felt we were in a shower for 15 minutes. But we survived. A run later, we sent the younger ones for a break while the rest of us skied in order to dry off.
We stopped for lunch around 11:30 am and went back out at 12:30 till 2:30 pm. This included capturing them twice on video.
Claude had to admit that he was challenged on a few occasions. First he realised he had forgotten the lunch tickets and had to find a ride with the hill manager to the dorm to get them in order to allow the kids to eat. Then he realised that he had left his radio pack with his lift pass, which his daughter had to bring back up. Then as he was going to call it quits, he realised he had left his back pack at the top of the hill. So he went back for another run. Coach Teague only did one that we are aware of. As he was putting his skis on near the lift, he realised that he was not carrying his own skis. Oops. Michele only ran around the lodge three times in order to find out to whom the pack she had just found belonged.
On the parents side, they decided to go spend money in North Conway. Well… It is only money.
Tonight was lasagne night. Miamm.
Tomorrow we are packing, and skiing until lunch. Then on the road again.
P.S. They are skiing well. The coaches are observing great progress.

Sunday River Camp Day 2
Well the day is almost over and we have a happy group. But again tonight we expect they will be early to bed.
This morning, following their run, the team enjoyed a great breakfast. By 8:00 we were on the lift. We knew we could enjoy a full run but we concentrated on the top half as it had been groomed. By 9:30 we had already done 4 runs and we decided to try a full run.
Let’s say that it was an interesting experience. The weather was getting close to the freezing point and with the snowmaking system still in full force, it felt like we were skiing through a car wash. They decided to shut it down just a few minutes after we skied through it. After that we took a small break, went back up and skied until lunch. We even skied another hour and a half in the afternoon. There were a lot more skiers than yesterday but the traffic was manageable and we skied down top to bottom a few more times since the car wash was off !.
When we returned to the dorm we had a scheduled hour of peace time then we went over the video we took of the kids. Then most of us went to the local ski shop “Jack Frost” for Souvenirs etc. The shop owner and workers commented on how well behaved and polite our team is and that they are welcome back any time.
It is about 8:30 pm and we have some children playing ping pong and others playing soccer with kids from another team, some playing instruments, some studying and some watching James Bond 007 Casino Royal.
In general, this was another successful day in Sunday River.

Sunday River Camp - Day 1 (Start of Day 2)
Hello parents,
Looks like I was too tired last night and forget to send you a report.
Well we had a great day. One trail on the top half of the mountain was open and it gave us the needed terrain to do a lot of skiing. Sunday River has a great dorm style accommodation, terrific food and really fabulous service. They have been very accommodating for us. We watched ski video of the kids skiing last night and everyone- coaches included were quiet in their rooms if not asleep at 10pm.
The hill opens at 8am this morning and we will be ready to enjoy a great day with top to bottom skiing as the snow making here is top notch.
Cheers
Claude

Sunday River Camp - The Start
Hello parents.
Well might as well give you a progress report.
We left with a little delay but this didn't put a damper on the spirit.
As we were on our way to pick up our Woodstock group we heard from the Sutherland who just arrived in Sunday River. Their comments were "We just checked in. Rooms look great. They have been blowing up (snow) op since noon". This is about 8 hours earlier than we had anticipated.
So we picked up the Teague's' and we gave 3 minutes for the kids to pee. Wow they made it on time.
Now I can tell you they let all of us enter the US. So you don't have to come and pick them up here at the border.
Have a good evening.
Claude, Michele and John.

10 am - 1 pm
We have booked 30 spots for our club at Tree go for October 17, 2010. Please let me know if you are planning to attend this event so we can make sure we have adequate spaces blocked. My understanding is that this is a members only event for insurance reasons (of course parents are members) and we will need your completed ACA forms at or before.
The climb will go from 10-1 for the Adult course and 12-1 for the Kids course. It will be important to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of our booking to sign a waiver and get your equipment on.
We need parent volunteers for the kids course in a child:parent ratio of 3:1. Please let me know if you can help on the ground crew! We may try to organize a picnic to bring the team together after the event. We can vote on that closer to the event.
Cost per participant:
1. Kids course $15 (must be able to reach 4’ 7” from flat foot) typically 7+
2. Adult Course $22 (must be able to reach 5’11” from flat foot) 16 and under (teens)
3. Adult Course $27 (“ “ “ “ ) 17 and older
There are weight restrictions at 225 lbs for women and 260 lbs for men.
If you are planning to attend please reply to this email and be certain to indicate how many kids, teens and adults in your party. I look forward to hearing from you. It is sure to be a fun and challenging event!
Cheers Heather
